ChillHub for Developers
How your Android TV or Fire TV app shows up in ChillHub, and what you can do to make it look its best.
What ChillHub does with your app
ChillHub is a home screen for Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV. It lists the apps installed on the device that have a launcher entry, normally under the banner your app declares, and people pin the apps they use most to a dock. Nothing is needed from you for that. A banner that is not banner-shaped is replaced by your app's icon, and people can choose their own artwork for any app.
When someone highlights an app in the dock, the top shelf above it fills with that app's content. If your app publishes Watch Next programs or a preview channel through Android's TV provider, ChillHub shows them there, under "Continue Watching" or "Watch Next", and opens them in your app. That needs the person to have allowed ChillHub to read TV listings and to have the shelf switched on, and a program needs poster art to be shown. The APIs below are for going further than that.
